When a website goes down or email stops working, it is rarely just a technical inconvenience. It costs orders, trust and time. For most small and medium-sized businesses, hosting and operations are something that should simply work, without you having to keep an eye on it daily. At IT-Connect in Vejle, we handle hosting and ongoing operations for Danish SMBs, so your website, email and Microsoft 365 run stably, and so you have someone local to call when something needs sorting out.

Webhosting and email with data in Denmark

We host websites and email in Danish data centers. That means your data physically stays in Denmark, under Danish and EU rules, which makes the GDPR conversation considerably simpler than when data is spread across servers in countries outside the EU. For many of the SMBs we work with, it matters that they can document where their own and their customers' data is stored.

In practice, hosting covers the technical foundation for your website, including servers, domains, SSL certificates and email accounts, along with the everyday maintenance that keeps it running: updates, monitoring and renewal of certificates and domains before they expire. It is the kind of work that is invisible when it is done right, and very visible when it is neglected.

Microsoft 365: setup and security

Many SMBs already run on Microsoft 365 for email, calendar, Teams and file sharing. But there is a big difference between having Microsoft 365 and having it set up properly. A standard setup leaves a lot of security settings untouched, and that is often where problems begin.

We set up Microsoft 365 with focus on both daily use and security: user accounts and licenses, email and shared mailboxes, file sharing in SharePoint and OneDrive, and Teams. On the security side, we work with multifactor authentication, sensible access controls and policies, and email protection against phishing and spam. The goal is a setup that fits the way you actually work, not a generic template.

Multifactor authentication (MFA) is the single most effective thing you can do for the security of your accounts. It is included in most Microsoft 365 subscriptions; it just needs to be enabled and rolled out correctly.

Backup, uptime and operations

A common misunderstanding is that data in Microsoft 365 is automatically backed up and can always be restored. It is more nuanced than that. Microsoft keeps the platform running, but the responsibility for your data, and for being able to restore it after an accidental deletion, a ransomware attack or a departing employee, rests with you. Therefore we recommend a separate backup of business-critical data, with a retention period that matches your needs.

For hosting, we monitor uptime and react when something deviates. We will be honest about one thing: no one can guarantee that a service will never go down. Hardware fails, networks have outages, and software needs updating. What we can do is reduce the risk, detect problems early, and have a plan for getting things back up quickly. Where it makes sense, we agree on a service level (SLA) in writing, so expectations for response time and availability are clear on both sides.

Local support from Vejle

The difference between a hosting provider and a local partner is often felt the day something goes wrong. When you call us, you talk to someone who knows your setup, speaks Danish, and can act, not a ticket number in a queue abroad. We are based in Vejle and serve businesses in the local area, but operations and support naturally also work remotely, so distance is rarely an obstacle.

How to get started

It starts with a conversation. We go through your current setup: where your website and email are hosted today, how Microsoft 365 is configured, and whether backup and security are in place. Based on that we give you an honest assessment of what works, what should be improved, and what it would take to move hosting and operations to us if that makes sense for you.

There are no obligations attached to the initial conversation. The aim is for you to come away with a clear picture of your own setup, whether or not you choose to work with us afterwards.
